Reviews about Textile & Timber Furnishings

  • July 07, 2020, by Shauna Suder
*UPDATED REVIEW * I’ve changed my previous review from 2 stars 4 stars based on our recent experiences and delivery with Textile and Timber. Although initially we had several missed expectations of order status and customer service opportunities, Steve and the members of the delivery team really went above and beyond to make sure all set expectations were met going forward. Our sofas are beautiful and extremely comfortable. Despite the initial issues, we would likely purchase again from Textile and Timber.* *Original review* We recently purchased a sectional and leather reclining gaming sofa from Textile & Timber. The store is inviting and full of beautiful pieces that aren’t found in other stores in the area, which is why we ultimately purchased from this store. The first issue we encountered was the failed promise from our sales associate who assured us she would call that Friday or Saturday to update our delivery date on our furniture, and never called. I called a week later and spoke with a manager who gave me a tentative date for arrival the first week of December and offered to have the furniture delivered separately as each piece arrived, which was great news. I called today for an update on our order, only to find out our sectional had been in since the 9th. No phone call, as promised. Again. The manager I spoke with offered no apology and even attempted to justify the lack of follow through (again) with, “the delivery times were full for Monday through Wednesday anyway, so it really doesn’t matter that no one called because there was no delivery available prior to Friday anyway.” Yes. That’s actually what the manager said. Needless to say, I’m beyond frustrated with the lack of follow through and poor customer service we have received to date. Completely disappointing after spending a substantial amount of money to have the experience we have had so far.

This is the pet project of a very large developer and Youngstown who purchased the entire parcel of land including all of the buildings except Home Depot. So, what does one do when you have a giant shopping center that is nearly vacant? Open an eighty-three thousand square foot furniture store. If you live in Aurora you've been by this place a bunch of times and so when it opened I checked it out... I got to tell you oh, it's actually pretty nice. My understanding is that the general manager of one of the prestigious local Furniture retailers jumped ship and came to work for these guys. Based on my interaction with the salesman who approached me, I have to say they are doing an excellent job. You'll pay less than Ethan Allen and get actual custom built furniture with any finish you can possibly think of. Think about a blend of Jo-Ann Fabrics and Ethan Allen... That's what this place is. They really have high quality Furnishings including clocks and paintings, they even have those incredibly overpriced beds if you want one. Before you go to one of the overpriced furniture companies you should check these guys out... my suspicion is you'll be pleased that you did.
